Throw Back to The Unforgettable Events in July 2015

When the nature strikes, no one can stop it. Let me share those 'special' moments where I was reminded that for a wedding planner & organiser, professional vendors are the true asset. And I must add new category LOYAL - beyond words could ever explain. The quality that as important as being PROFESSIONAL.

I was in the amidst of final stage of preparation process for 3 wedding events, two were scheduled in mid July and the other one in the first August. Everything was running smoothly, up and running until ... Mount Raung's eruption in East Java started disrupting flights to and from Bali. The volcanic ashes heading to the island of Gods forced the authority to close the airport temporarily until further notice. I kept on monitoring the latest situation - yes I was nervous but determined to stay positive - telling myself that everything would be alright.

In the meantime, Gitta - the bride whose wedding scheduled on Friday 10th July landed safely in Bali out of Kuala Lumpur but the groom and his family stranded in Sydney Airport! All flights to Bali had been cancelled by Kingsford Smith authority, they were advised to comeback the next day. To cut the story short, now wedding on 10th July had become impossible, after endless whatsapp messages and phone calls coordination with the groom and family, I managed to rescheduled the wedding to Monday 13th. All vendors involved had been contacted and confirmed about the new date.

Waiting in vain for 3 very distressful days, the groom who was adamant to got married on 13th July, had eventually bought new flight tickets with new route Sydney - Kuala Lumpur - Jakarta - Bali! He had told me that they would have landed in Bali on Saturday evening 11th July. After having got cancelled twice (the groom and family literally stranded in Jakarta for 2 full days) they had finally made it to Bali in the morning of 13th July - only 5 hours before wedding ceremony was scheduled.
